Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: January 1, 2026

Our Commitment

Cohrt is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to achieve our goal of providing an accessible platform that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

We believe that accessibility is an ongoing effort and are committed to regularly reviewing and updating our platform to ensure we meet or exceed accessibility standards.

Standards and Guidelines

We aim to conform to the following accessibility standards:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA: The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to meet Level AA standards, which address the most common barriers for users with disabilities.
  • Section 508: U.S. federal accessibility requirements for information and communication technology.
  • ARIA 1.2: We use Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) attributes to enhance the accessibility of dynamic content and complex user interface components.
  • Semantic HTML5: We use semantic HTML elements to provide meaningful structure and context to assistive technologies.

Accessibility Features

The following accessibility features have been implemented on our platform:

Keyboard Navigation

  • Skip Navigation Links: "Skip to main content" links are available on all pages to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation and jump directly to the main content.
  • Full Keyboard Support: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard, without requiring mouse interaction.
  • Logical Tab Order: The tab order follows a logical sequence that matches the visual layout of the page.
  • Visible Focus Indicators: All interactive elements have visible focus indicators to help keyboard users identify their current location on the page.

Screen Reader Support

  • ARIA Labels: Icon-only buttons and interactive elements have descriptive aria-label attributes to provide context to screen reader users.
  • ARIA Landmarks: Navigation, main content, and other page regions are properly marked with ARIA landmarks (<nav>, <main>, etc.) to help screen reader users navigate the page structure.
  • ARIA States: Interactive elements such as expandable menus, toggles, and tabs use appropriate ARIA states (aria-expanded, aria-pressed, aria-current) to communicate their current state to screen readers.
  • Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML elements (headings, lists, landmarks) to provide meaningful structure that screen readers can interpret.

Images and Media

  • Alt Text: All informative images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes (alt="") to indicate they should be ignored by screen readers.
  • Avatar Labels: User and agent avatars include descriptive alt text (e.g., "John Doe avatar") to provide context.

Forms and Inputs

  • Form Labels: All form inputs have associated labels using the <label> element or aria-label attributes.
  • Error Messages: Form validation errors are associated with their corresponding input fields using aria-describedby and aria-invalid attributes.
  • Required Fields: Required form fields are indicated both visually and programmatically using aria-required="true".

Dynamic Content

  • Live Regions: Dynamic content updates, such as toast notifications and status messages, are announced to screen readers using aria-live regions.
  • Loading States: Loading indicators include aria-busy="true" and descriptive messages to inform users when content is being loaded.

Modals and Dialogs

  • Dialog Labels: Modal dialogs have proper labels using aria-labelledby pointing to the dialog title.
  • Focus Management: When modals open, focus is moved to the first focusable element within the modal. When modals close, focus returns to the element that triggered the modal.

Known Limitations

While we strive to ensure accessibility across our platform, we are aware of the following limitations:

Third-Party Integrations

Some third-party services and integrations (such as GitHub, ClickUp, Harvest, Sanity, Contentful) may have their own accessibility features and limitations. While we work to ensure our integration points are accessible, the third-party interfaces themselves are outside our direct control.

Legacy Content

Some older content or features may not yet meet our current accessibility standards. We are working to update these areas as we continue to improve the platform.

Browser Compatibility

While we test our platform with multiple browsers and assistive technologies, some combinations may have limitations. We recommend using the latest versions of supported browsers for the best accessibility experience.
